I have a dream today!

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!

Mr. John Pilger

Dear Readers,

I sent a couple of minutes ago this short email to the editor of Mr. John Pilger.
I believe that after having watched one of his documentaries, you will agree with me and send your letter to him!

your sincerely,
Antonio

Here you can find the official web site of Mr. John Pilger

Here comes the letter:
my name is Antonio Napoli, I am 34 years old and I am Italian.

I recently discovered the works of Mr. John Pilger.
I have to admit that I seldom watched documentaries at the same level of
the ones made by Mr. Pilger.
Every journalist should take him as an example for the rest of his career.

Mr. Pilger is extremely prepared and informed at explaining the facts behind the histories he tells us in his documentaries.
Moreover, he is very polite and it seems that he strongly believes in what he does!
Last but not the least, Mr. Pilger is not afraid of powerful men. He is courageous to ask questions that nobody else would ask. He does this with anyone he interviews, and it seems that the more important is the person he is interviewing, the stronger the questions are. I never saw something like that.

Hereby I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Pilger and I heartily hope that Mr. Pilger can continue to produce his documentaries that, without exaggerating, changed the history of journalism.

The journalism of Mr. Pilger is as the journalism should be.

yours sincerely,
Antonio

Abraham, Martin, and John

Dear reader,

A friend of mine recommend me to listen to this song...
The lyric is simple but touching...
In particular if we think at the shared destinies of these four great men...I believe that anyone of you will be speechless...

The picture here above states that this is what happens if you do the right thing in America (USA).
In my opinion, this does not happen only in USA, but I would say it is a general tendency of the current degraded world.
All these men, together with many others, put their lives at risk until the extreme sacrifice, which ultimately occurred in a similar way for all of them.
Since obviously we cannot bring them back to this evil world, it would be already sufficient if we, all of us, were able, at least, to fight for their ideals under any circumstance and under any kind of threat.

Our ideas are valid and our principles are worth only if we are willing to fight for them, if needed, until the extreme sacrifice.
In my opinion, this is the only way to curb the decline of our modern world.

Your sincerely,

Antonio

Here you can listen to one version of this song, the Ray Charles' one, on YouTube:

Abraham, Martin, and John

Sung by: Dion

Words and Music by Richard Holler

Has anybody here seen my old friend Abraham?

Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed lotta people but it seems the good they die young
You know I just looked around and he's gone

Has anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed lotta people but it seems the good they die young
I just looked around and he's gone

(brief instrumental interlude-organ)

Has anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed lotta people but it seems the good they die young
I just looked around and he's gone

Didn't you love the things that they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good for you and me?
And we'll be free
Some day soon, it's gonna be one day

has anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walkin' up over the hill
With Abraham, Martin, and John

Potete dirmi dov'e' andato?
Ho pensato di averlo visto camminare sulla collina insieme ad Abraham, Martin e John

Tiramisu recipe !

Dear reader,

I just wrote this receipt for a friend, and I thought that it could be useful to have it for everybody:-)

Enjoy your Tiramisu.

Tiramisu' receipt for four persons

4 eggs
500g mascarpone (the Italian cheese)
4 (big) spoons of sugar
caffe (as much as you need)
cacao (as much as you need)
biscuits, about 150g, maybe more

Step to be done to prepare tiramisu':
  1. Separate between yellow and white part of the eggs
  2. In the meanwhile prepare the coffee, that you have to use later
  3. Mix yellow + sugar and white alone
  4. Add the mascarpone to the yellow+sugar cream, and apply the mixer again
  5. Afterwards mix the white (that now should look like snow, or at least a dense cream) with the yellow+sugar+mascarpone cream. After mixing that, the final cream is ready.
  6. Decide how to place the biscuits into the container, afterwards soak the biscuits one by one into the coffee (this last must be cold), and place them in the container.
  7. Once the first layer is finished, ladle the already prepared cream on this first layer of biscuits. You must ladle an abundant quantity:-).
  8. Once this is done, start with the second layer. Once this is finished, ladle the cream once again (this is the last layer, so you should ladle a bit more).
  9. As last step, dust the tiramisu with cocoa (dust cacao).
Now, you will place the tiramisu into the fridge, and wait for four-five hours.
After that, you can eat it!

Who is still skeptic about solar energy?

Dear Readers,

I perfectly remember when some years ago, talking with a professor at my university I asked him which was the efficiency of a solar cell. His answer was straight away: theoretically, 25%.

Nowadays, thanks to two different research groups, the efficiency of the solar cell might be dramatically increased.
The two independent and separated researches have been carried out in:
The first investigation (see figure above), proved that the efficiency of a solar cell might be, from a theoretical point of view, double by exploiting the so-called avalanche effect, which generates, under particular conditions, from one received photon more than one electron.

The second research analyses instead an innovative way to trap the solar light into a material in order to improve the efficiency of a solar panel.
The technique (displayed in figure aside) uses transparent dyes to capture, concentrate and finally redirect light along the surface of the glass to photovoltaic cells in the frame, which convert the light into electricity. This last technique seems promising from a cost-production point of view.

Clearly, these two represent important steps to increase the efficiency of solar panels, and to strengthen the position of who wants to finally get rid off the oil consumption by implementing renewable source of energy.

best wishes,
Antonio
