La Mondadori e la traduzione dei libri dall'inglese

Cari lettori,

ho scritto qualche giorno fa questa lettera alla Mondadori, nota casa editrice, facendole notare che i titoli di due libri (e chissa' di quanti altri) presentavano traduzioni dall'inglese all'italiano assurde...
Se avete tempo e voglia, fatevi sentire anche voi, perche' non e' accettabile che una casa editrice di questo livello si sia ridotta a tradurre cosi' malamente i titoli (e chissa' cosa e' successo al testo) di libri cosi' importanti.

sia il primo che il secondo presentano traduzioni sbagliate del titolo originale, al che ho pensato come faccio a fidarmi della traduzione, se gia' il titolo e' sbagliato??

- Il primo libro presenta una traduzione del titolo fatta con un dizionario elettronico, infatti la vostra traduzione in italiano non ha senso...Il titolo in inglese (The universe in a nutshell) significa qualcosa come: L'universo spiegato in poche parole, in breve...Guardate come l'avete tradotto voi...fa proprio piangere...

Il secondo libro invece presenta una traduzione che ha nulla a che fare con quella originale...
"What we knew" non significa come nella vostra traduzione "La Germania sapeva", ma piuttosto "Che cosa sapevamo"...Questa traduzione cambia notevolmente il significato del testo originale.
Una cosa e' dire "cosa sapevo", un'altra "sapevo"...la prima versione (originale) non implica che io sappia tutto, mentre la seconda implica che i tedeschi sapessero praticamente tutto di quello che stava succedendo...

Mi aspetto un ben altro livello da una casa editrice famosa come la vostra, in particolare mi aspetto che non usiate dizionari elettronici per tradurre testi scritti in altre lingue...

Caro Tremonti, che scempio i tagli alla scuola' (da "Il fatto quotidiano")

Una lettera da una professoressa coraggiosa di Palermo pubblicato su "Il Fatto quotidiano" del 14 Giugno 2010.

Ministro Tremonti,

lei mi obbliga a violare la legge. Mi piacerebbe incontrarla per dirglielo guardandola negli occhi. Lei sta obbligando la maggioranza dei docenti italiani a violare la legge. È esattamente quello che accade in moltissime scuole italiane. Cosa significa infatti ammassare più alunni di quanti un'aula può contenerne, se non violare la legge? Sono ben tre le norme violate: la normativa antincendio, quella per la sicurezza negli edifici scolastici e quella igienico sanitaria. Molti sanno che lei ha tolto ben 8 miliardi all’istruzione pubblica. “C’erano tanti sprechi e siamo in tempi di crisi, bisogna razionalizzare”, saggia e incontrovertibile affermazione. Così ha giustificato la cosa. Di contro, però, le spese militari ricevono 25 miliardi di euro e leggo in questi giorni di un bonus di 19 mila euro a classe per le scuole private e leggo anche di un aumento di circa 200 euro mensili per i colleghi di religione, buon per loro, non sia mai, ma allora non bloccassero i nostri per i prossimi secoli.

Mettiamoci d’accordo. C’è la crisi o no? Un giorno c’è, un giorno non c’è, un giorno è un “anatema psicologico delle sinistre” e l’altro giorno “dobbiamo fare sacrifici”. Ma non tutti, attenzione: gli statali. Io mi sono arrovellata nel tentativo di capire dove fossero quegli sprechi quando, nell’agosto 2008, ho saputo degli 8 miliardi da togliere alla scuola pubblica. Ma lei ha fugato i miei dubbi: lo spreco era studiare l’italiano, e quindi via due ore. Lo spreco era studiare la tecnologia moderna e quindi via un’ora. Questo alle medie. Escano prima i ragazzi: così hanno tempo per riflettere. Lo ha detto il ministro Gelmini. Lo spreco era recuperare i bambini con difficoltà (cosa frequentissima nei contesti dove vivo e ho scelto di insegnare io, e cioè nelle periferie), e quindi via le compresenze in talune ore di due maestri nelle elementari: a questo servivano, caro ministro. Il tutto eseguito con la furia di un boscaiolo cieco che ha distrutto chiome sane, piante rigogliose e qualche ramo secco, ma troppo pochi, in cambio della distruzione della nostra foresta amazzonica: il polmone del nostro futuro. Quelle due ore d’italiano e le compresenze servivano anche a coprire le assenze dei colleghi senza ricorrere a supplenze esterne. Inoltre: aumentiamo i ragazzi per classe: fino a 30, 33..ma sì. Realizziamo un bel parcheggio per ragazzi, non una scuola certamente. Del resto sono altre le fonti vere della formazione: la vita, la strada, la televisione, il computer. Per chi vuole studiare veramente ci sono le scuole private. Studiare cosa e come poi è da vedere.

C’è un piccolo particolare: tutto ciò è anticostituzionale. La Costituzione riconosce alla scuola pubblica, statale, italiana il compito di formare e istruire gli italiani. Le private? Una scelta possibile, non obbligata. Non era un paradiso la scuola pubblica, prima di Tremonti, ma i problemi erano altri, non certo questi.

Torniamo alle sue motivazioni: la gestione dei singoli istituti, troppi soldi, troppi. E quindi tagli anche a quella. “Facessero una colletta i genitori, e che sarà mai qualche centinaio di euro”. Alla voce vedi sopra. “Qualche centinaio di euro è nulla”, ma non c’era la crisi? Nella mia regione, in Sicilia, quel centinaio di euro serve per andare avanti. E dunque i tagli: nella scuola dove insegno io, una normale scuola media della periferia palermitana, ma potremmo generalizzare a tutte le scuole medie d’Italia, siamo quasi alla paralisi. Avete compiuto il miracolo: unire di colpo nord e sud nella omologazione verso il peggio. Dico quasi, perché poi, incredibilmente, docenti e dirigenti sono diventati bravi a fare i salti mortali e le capriole all’indietro. E forse questo lei lo sapeva: qual è l’unica classe di lavoratori in Italia che, nonostante tutto, continua a lavorare? La nostra. Nel senso che lei aveva ragione e che quindi, nonostante i tagli , riusciamo ad andare avanti? No: nel senso che per noi quelli che non devono subire le ricadute gravissime della sua scelta scellerata, ripeto, scellerata, non devono essere i ragazzi: e dunque si alza la saracinesca comunque e si fa l’appello tutte le mattine.

Però sa cosa c’è? C’è che abbiamo anche sopportato e stiamo sopportando molto, ma l’illegalità di stato dentro una scuola no. Io non la sopporto e la denuncio. Tagliare completamente i fondi di gestione delle scuole ha comportato l’impossibilità di chiamare supplenti per coprire le assenze, adesso che non ci sono più quelle due ore che servivano a coprirle. E dunque le classi si dividono in altre classi. Giornalmente. I ragazzini si prendono la loro sedia e vagano nei corridoi in cerca di spazio. Perdendo ore di lezione. E allora: posso sopportare di lavorare meno, posso sopportare di farlo in una scuola ammuffita, con l’acqua che filtra, senza vetri (lei mi dirà : si rivolga all’amministrazione comunale), posso sopportare di non avere carta igienica per i ragazzi, sapone nei bagni, riscaldamenti a singhiozzo. In una mia classe di prima media ho 23 bambini, 4 di loro con gravissimi disagi sociali e disturbi comportamentali (sono figli di carcerati) , due con problemi di apprendimento e uno disabile grave. Io insegno arte: nelle mie ore non ho insegnante di sostegno, perché sono state tagliate le ore del sostegno, come tanti sanno.

E allora mi dica lei qual è il diritto all’istruzione negata del mio alunno disabile? Qual è il diritto all’attenzione precipua negata ai 4 bimbi con problemi sociali? E ai due che non riescono a leggere senza distrarsi? E' una scuola di periferia, se non li aiuto io chi li aiuta? E il resto dei compagni? Non hanno diritto alla “normalità”? E poi viene la ministra Gelmini a parlar male dei docenti del sud, di come i nostri alunni sono in fondo alle classifiche delle prove di merito: ma in queste condizioni cosa vi aspettate? È già un miracolo se abbiamo le sedie nella mia scuola. L’inverno lo abbiamo trascorso con mussa e infissi rotti. “Si rivolga al Comune” dirà lei. Il suo sindaco di centrodestra ha tagliato anche lui tutti i finanziamenti alle scuole: sia per il funzionamento ordinario, sia per le manutenzioni. Non ci resta che Santa Rosalia. E in effetti... manco la Chiesa ci appoggia, noi sciagurati delle periferie, intenta com’è a salvaguardare le scuole private. Lei lo chiama razionamento e si riempie la bocca di frasi assurde sul come l’Italia stia reggendo la crisi. Mi scusi: ma che cavolo sta dicendo? Lo deve dire lei, una statistica o io? Ho 253 alunni, 253 famiglie cioè: un bel campione di famiglie di periferia, come ce ne sono a migliaia nella corona delle città. Forse ne so parlare meglio di lei degli effetti della crisi, sig. Ministro: niente fumo negli occhi ahimè. Perché nemmeno il contributo di 15 euro annui riescono più a pagare. Lo stato vissuto nelle classi italiane è disastroso. Io la chiamo illegalità.

Io non posso adeguarmi. Non per me stessa, che alla fine noi docenti ci abituiamo a tutto, ma per loro. Non posso più tollerare che quei ragazzi siano il bersaglio vero delle nostre scelte. È questa l’illegalità Egregio ministro. L’illegalità e il non rispetto della legge no. A Palermo no. Non in quel quartiere: la scuola non può tollerarlo perché è l’unico baluardo dello Stato. Porti solo la sua firma questo scempio: io non voglio rendermene complice. E non mi dica che sto facendo politica e un insegnante non può farla. Io ne ho più diritto di lei, che sia chiaro: io formo i cittadini di domani. Non lei. Lei passerà, per fortuna, ma i docenti italiani ci saranno sempre a insegnare cosa voglia dire rispettare le regole, rispettare la legge, cosa significhino parole come “comunità”, come “solidarietà”, come “eguaglianza”, come “fraternità”.

Questa è politica, caro Tremonti, ed è il senso del mio mestiere. Glielo insegno di più io, non di certo tu che gli togli maestri, risorse e ruolo sociale. Da qualche mese mi rifiuto di accogliere ragazzi provenienti da classi divise oltre il numero consentito. E lo farò anche a fronte di ordini di servizio scritti. Venga qualcuno a obbligarmi. Venga pure. Io mi rifiuto. Il mio Dirigente mi dirà: dove li metto allora? Io la rivolgo a Lei questa domanda: dove li mettiamo? La rivolgo ai suoi elettori, che sono anche genitori: dove volete che li mettiamo i vostri figli?

Di quei 25 miliardi alle spese militari destini nuovamente alla scuola pubblica gli 8 miliardi tolti. Oppure assegni i proventi del lotto per un anno alla messa in sicurezza degli edifici scolastici: sono questi per me i monumenti culturali dell’Italia che amo. La smetta di giocare con la vita e con l’istruzione dei nostri figli. Anzi, le dico di più, se posso: se ne vergogni.

Windows vs. Linux-based OS and vice versa

Hallo!

I heard from many people that one of the most silly problem you can have by using OpenOffice is that you cannot open excel files containing macros...Yesterday it happened to me exactly the opposite:
I got a file written with Microsoft Excel, containing some very simple macros.

I firstly try to open with Excel...but no why, the macro was making problem...than I tried with OpenOffice and the document was immediately opened

Now it would be nice to know why by using the native software I got problems (and in the end it didn't work), while by using Open Office (an open source free version of Microsoft Office) I didn't have any trouble.

The same happened to me with the some new .pptx files...
I can easily open them in OpenOffice, while I cannot open with the previous version of Microsoft Office...

As you can see, open source software

• is always performing better...no matter the topic and the problem...
• is much more reliable

and do you know why?
The reasons is simple, the are millions of persons who can have access to the original source code and they are all willing to improve it...nobody does it for money..
everybody contributes...and the software is improved...
Microsoft instead doesn't have any push to improve his licensed software just because of its not deserved monopoly on the software industry...
Just take the example of Vista....

If a company in any other field had put on the market some low quality product as Windows Vista is, that company would have had to close its activities immediately...

Can you imagine that whenever you buy a PC with Vista you can ask for an officially downgrade...

it is like if Apple produce a new IPhone and instead of buying that one, you ask for the previous model..

Instead what happend?
Microsoft wasn't hurt by Vista disaster at all, just because you are forced to buy it....no matter you want it or not....if you buy any notebook, you must buy it

La locura del general

Dear readers,

I recently read a book written by the Chilean world-wide famous novelist, Luis Sepulveda.
I do not know the English title of the book, but translating from the Spanish version ("La locura del general"), in English should sound something like "the madness of the general", where the general is the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.
The book consists of a collection of articles published world-wide by Sepulveda on several newspapers during the period of the Pinochet detention, in London, because of the international mandate of arrest signed by the Spanish judge Garzon.
In this period, Luis Sepulveda, and with him all people who still believes in justice, in Chile and all over the world, hoped that finally the Dictator could have paid for the crimes he commit during his 16 years-long dictatorship.
These articles are interesting to understand the feelings of Sepulveda, that changed everyday moving from a sense of hope and trustworthiness in the justice and in particular in the Spanish judge Garzon, who still represents one of the most prominent judge in the world, brave enough to ask for the arrest of Pinochet, and the sense of impotence and sadness, since too many people in Chile and in the entire world still helped Pinochet to escape from the justice.

In this short but highly intensive summary of emotions across a couple of years (from the arrest of the dictator to his return to his, by him destroyed, homeland), Sepulveda remember several facts happened during his dictatorship.
He remembers in particular the high expectation and hope among Chileans followed the victory in the 1970 election of Salvador Alleande.
He remember how young people helped the president to realize his way to socialism and how strong was the engagement of Allende's followers. He also remembered how the putsch started and happened, when Allende politics was stopped with all the possible means (including corruption of trade-unions responsible in order to cause problems to the country, and as a direct consequence to Allende government).
He remembers when Chilean extreme-right parties together with the supporter of USA, realized that there was no semi-legal way to stop Allende, and therefore they finally plot, as extreme solution, the putsch realized on Sept. 11, 1973 (note: it does not exist only the Hollywood one, but at least two).
As we all know, the dictator won also his last battle: He was able to return to his homeland, where he was celebrated by his supporter. After his return, almost everybody in the parliament was willing to forget, better, to cancel what happened during the dictatorship. The solution elaborated by the socialists and Pinochet party was to decide to cancel that period of Chilean history and consequently not to prosecute the criminals, who are still today actively involved in the Chilean politics at all level of the government, locally and nationally speaking.
Pinochet was protected, by both sides, and as immediate effect he was elected senator, keeping his place in a humiliated parliament until his death.

Chile decided not to judge his past as many other countries (e.g. Spain, Italy, etc.).
This is worse political decision that a government can make.
If a country does not judge and condemn the crimes committed by someone inside and outside it, it will, sooner or later, still have to deal with this part of society, which normally should have been condemned and imprisoned, and instead it is still very active and condition the political life.

SECONDA LETTERA

Ciao,

Scrivo a voi perché purtroppo la mia voce è nascosta tra le tante voci di un popolo italiano sempre più triste, solo e arrendevole di fronte alla prepotenza e all’arroganza di una classe politica ottusa e completamente indifferente ai problemi della gente.

La congiuntura internazionale è tale per cui bisogna sempre accontentarsi di quello che si ha, per cui bisogna solo ringraziare "Dio Onnipotente" di avere ancora quattro soldi in tasca per farsi una birra con gli amici e offrire una pizza alla ragazza di turno. E non abbiamo più neanche il tempo per incazzarci e andare in piazza dove rischi di beccarti una pallottola vagante dalla polizia o dal mafioso di zona. Non abbiamo il tempo e la forza perché siamo impegnati a lavorare sotto padrone o a sbatterci affinché il contratto venga prolungato, o perché ci prendano a fare uno stage non retribuito in cui se siamo carine e piacenti e ci facciamo toccare il culo, forse rimaniamo anche un altro anno con contratto a progetto.

L’Italia sta diventando sempre di più il paese in cui non ci sono certezze. Non ci sono certezze nei diritti in quanto ti possono incarcerare e tenere sequestrato 48 ore a Bolzaneto senza farti pisciare o ti può rapire la CIA , con l’avallo del governo, perché professi la tua religione e sei sospettato di terrorismo.

O semplicemente non hai la certezza che gli stupratori di tua figlia o della tua ragazza si facciano gli anni che meritano o che i picchiatori squadristi delle ronde vengano puniti in base alle leggi e alla costituzione che viene continuamente calpestata nei suoi valori democratici e della resistenza antifascista.

E soprattutto viviamo in un paese arretrato moralmente in cui la corruzione spadroneggia, ma ci si scandalizza se si parla di coppie di fatto e unioni civili omosessuali. E poi non si può neanche morire in pace perché il Governo che ormai ha rotto ogni indugio e va a vanti deciso verso un modello autoritario stile dittatura sudamericana, cerca di varare un decreto intervenendo in una questione spinosissima con la delicatezza di un elefante in una cristalleria.

Subiamo piccole violenze ogni giorno in questo paese. A partire dalla Televisione che per legge dobbiamo pagare per forza, ai divieti di circolazione quando non c’è la possibilità di scegliere mezzi non inquinanti, se non cambiandosi la macchina ogni anno per arricchire i concessionari e la famiglia Agnelli e simili; all’impossibilità di avere figli con la fecondazione assistita, al ricatto a cui dobbiamo sottostare se siamo immigrati e ci ammaliamo.

Non mi fa schifo il mio paese, mi fanno schifo le persone che lo governano e tutti quelli che non fanno niente per cambiarlo. Tutti quelli che dicono che Saviano è solo un irriconoscente e un rompipalle, quelli che dicono che Falcone e Borsellino volevano solo fare carriera, quelli che dicono che il pesce grande mangia sempre il pesce piccolo.

A volte mi vengono davvero dei pensieri cattivi, vorrei vedere un po’ di teste che cadono e un po’ di gente inferocita per le strade con i forconi. Pronti lì a piantarli nel culo ai manager che si alzano lo stipendio prima di andare in pensione o a quelli che per dimettersi si fanno ricoprire d’oro, o a quelli che sfruttano la beneficenza per arricchirsi o a quelli che vincono gli appalti nel mezzogiorno e poi si mangiano tutto e lasciano gli scheletri delle costruzioni sulle coste.

Scusate lo sfogo, ma è l'unica cosa che mi è rimasta. E lo faccio con voi prima di fare la fine di Piero Ricca che riceve denunce solo per andare a dire per strada e in faccia ai politici la verità.

PRIMA LETTERA:

Caro Antonio,

sono preoccupatissimo per la situazione in Italia dove siamo GIA' parzialmente in una forma di dittatura (impossibilità di scegliere i propri rappresentanti politici per via delle liste "blindate", magistratura intimidita e castrata (vedi intercettazioni), informazione assente o serva, armi di "distrazione di massa" attive ogni giorno ed ogni ora, verità sbeffeggiata e ribaltata, opposizione politica - tranne Di Pietro - inesistente ...) e peggioreremo di molto negli anni a venire.
I gruppi su Facebook inneggianti alla mafia sono stati, molto probabilmente, inseriti da qualche scagnozzo per servire da scusa per una censura globale della Rete e chiusura, o condizionamento pesante, dei blog scomodi.
E anche noi ci siamo forse "cascati", iscrivendoci ai gruppi "anti-mafia-su-facebook".
L'ignoranza e l'inconsapevolezza dilaga fra la gente ed è disarmante.
Il cinismo e la falsità dei politicanti, e la loro fantasia e spregiudicatezza nel male, sono a livelli mai visti.
Ti confesso che oggi stavo cercando informazioni su come si può fare per acquisire la cittadinanza francese.
E' solo una pazza idea senza probabilmente un seguito, anche perchè ho *** anni ormai e la salute non buona, ma ...
... scusa lo sfogo, e tieni ben d'acconto il tuo lavoro all'estero.
Poveri noi!!!

Letters from Italy - part I

Dear Readers,

I recently received some emails from friends who, for various reasons, have to live in the modern version of the fascist Italy (i.e. under the Berlusconi's regime).
All these friends are very high level persons, and for them it is a continuous suffering to stay in a country where the words morality and ethic are just ancient Greek words without any meaning...

To leave in a country, where the information does not exist any more, and where the most of the people surrounding you have been brainwashed by 25-years long of Berlusconi TV model, it is not easy...

I feel really sorry for these friends of mine and the only thing I can say is that

• I will always be ready to provide my help to this poor south European country
• and that they can come to stay with me in Munich whenever they want to finally feel what does it mean to leave in a free, advanced and modern country as Germany it is.

FIRST MAIL:

Dear Antonio,

I am extremely worried about the situation in Italy where we are ALREADY suffering a certain form of dictatorship (for example we cannot elected our political representatives since the elected candidates are selected by the parties without any democratic logic, the justice is all over the country continuously intimidated and stopped from doing its work), the media are absent or are just slaves (n.d.a. of Berlusconi), informations through the television channels is reduced to a distraction weapon, where the through is modified and changed (n.d.a. according to Berlusconi's needs).

Last but not least, the political opposition does not exist, a part the small party of Di Pietro. In the next years the situation will worsen. In Facebook appeared some group, likely inserted by some Mafia-boy (nda, = "scagnozzo") to be later on used (by the governmental officers) to apply a global censorship to Internet with the consequently closing, or strong re-dimensioning, of blog that do not report the unique voice of the Italy's owner (n.d.a. Berlusconi). And probably we have been tricked too, joining these anti-Mafia group that appeared afterwards in Facebook.

Ignorance and unawareness are spreading through the population, and this is disarming. The cynicism and truthlessness of the politicians, and their imagination and unscrupulousness to do bad things, reached a level that we never saw before.

Room to read

Dear Friends,

this email is about fund-raising for a charity association and the goal is to raise money by selling a Calendar for the upcoming 2010.
Since some months we, my girlfriend and I, are involved, to a certain extend, in the activities of a no-profit association called "Room to read". But what is "Room to read"?

Room to read started from an idea of John Wood, who at that time was a high executive of Microsoft for the Asian-Pacific region.
The source of inspiration of Mr. Wood was a series of trips he had to Nepal.
At the end of his first trip he had the chance to visit the school of a village.
Once he visited the school, he asked if he could have had a look at the library.
Unfortunately, the library was just a locked up cabinet containing few and damaged books, which appeared to be backpacker castoffs.


Moreover, the watchman said that he couldn't let the library opened and the borrowing of the books was limited, since otherwise the children would have damaged the books by consulting them too often.
After this revealing experience, Mr. Wood had to leave Nepal, and as soon as he went back to his office, he decided to collect as many books as he could. To fasten the collection of books he contacted via email all his colleagues and friends by asking to send to his private address in USA all the second hand books. Mr. Wood would have paid all the expenses for the delivering.
After few days, his father had to call him to communicate that there was no space any more in the garage where the books were arriving. The books continued to arrived even in the following days. After some time, Mr. Wood went back to Nepal to personally deliver the collected books in the amount of 37 big cartoons. Now he was ready to take care of the new organization.

One of the idea behind Mr. Wood organization is to help girls during their education. The reason why Room to read helps only girls and not boys is due to the fact that a girl will be one day a mother, and a mother will transmit her knowledge to her sons and daughters. Therefore, more than one generation can be educated by helping a single girl.
The amount of money needed to provide a full scholarship to a girl in the countries were Room To Read operates is of 250 USD/year. For a 10 years education is obviously 10 times more, which is the ideal goal of each found raising for Room to read.

Fang Fang and I, invested in the acquisition of calendars about 400$ for 60 calendars.
The cost of each calendar is 4€. We bought some at 10€ and some at 4€.

Therefore, a normal price, per calendar, of 10€ would donate 6€ to Room to Read.
It has to be pointed out that Room to Read is, in its category, the charity association, with the highest efficiency in terms of money that really goes to the people who need them.
85€ out of 100€ go to the children.

We know that many of you will buy in the next weeks gift for all your beloved and friends.

This world is really at the end....

Hallo,

Few weeks ago, I sent an email describing a discover that may significantly help the early detection of cancer at a very early stage.
I sent this mail to all the people I have in my contact list. Among them there are several PhD, Doctor, Prof...etc. etc.

The email was in English, and although my English is not at a very good level, I believe it is understandable by everybody. Moreover, since the inventor is Italian, there was no excuse to say, sorry but I do not understand English...because the link was also available in Italian.

As I have just written the mail was sent to about 250 persons...
So far, after three weeks, I got NO answer...
Nobody believes that this email is important. Probably because nobody dies of cancer in this stupid world. Someone asked me, what should I have answered....Well, there are several options....

1. you could have helped me to understand whether this research makes sense (it has been certified by FermiLab and other important institutions), but maybe FermiLab and the others are something stupid as well the nobel price, and therefore the research is a shitty one....This sound pretty much reasonable in a world were a pornostar counts much more than people working at the FermiLab
   
2. you could have forwarded this email to anyone you know, to understand once again whether is a real thing, or just publicity...The researcher looks very serious, and he said it clearly that he is willing to give its patents for free...he doesn't want to make any money out of it...
   
3. you could have started a discussion with me or you friends with the same purposes I mentioned above
   

Instead what did I get? ZERO answers...
On the other hand, few days ago I sent an email containing three pictures of the wife or beloved of three men...There was a picture of Michelle Obama, Claudia Bruni, and the Italian Monica Lewinski, Ms. Mara Carfagna...In all the pictures the three women were indicating a size with their hands....the size (according to the funny email) was the size of the dick of their partner...you understood it correctly, I wrote Dick, like the former vice-president (and real one) of USA.
I received it from a friend and I forwarded it...Strangely I received more answers to this stupid and idiot email than the one (zero) I received about the machine to early detect cancer...You may say, of course, this was such an important and interesting email, why are you so surprise of that? Can you imagine, now we believe to now with a certain accuracy the size of the dick of two presidents and a dictator. What is more important than that? Advances in early detection of cancer? Bullshit!

I have to assume that if a scientific invention that may be useful to save hundred of thousands of people every year is less important that the size of the dick of Obama, Berlusconi and Sarkozy, this world is really at the end...
If someone find the time to answer to my stupid email, and he/she doesn't find the same time to answer to the first email, I am pretty sure that this world has NOT A SINGLE chance not only to become a good place, but at least a decent place...And this unfortunately happens on a daily base.

I am so disappointed about this episode, that you cannot imagine. I though that facebook was a nonsense place, a place were nobody answers to serious things and everybody finds time and hours to answer to stupid-low cultural level stuffs. (this happens every single moment)..
It seems now to me that facebook is not alone...

An interisting machine to early detect cancer

Dear Mr. Obama,

I am an Italian researcher living in Munich.
I got to know from some friends the following research concerning a machine to early detect cancer diseases.
I know that you are a sensible and intelligent man, therefore I decided to write this short message.

The researcher seems to be serious, and his researches too. I had a look at his CV and his works, and he surely knows what to do!
His work has been already certified by several universities, research centers, and famous professors.
All the certifications were successfully passed.
Although the evidence of the importance of invention, it seems that the big producers of medical machine do not want to finance his work, since they claim that it will not be profitable.
Moreover, Dr. Crosetto doesn't want to earn money from his patent and this may be an obstacle to the realization of his detection machine.
I hope that you or some of your collaborators will have time to have a look at "Crosetto foundation" web site, and hopefully your administration, in case you think it makes, sense, will be able to make possible the commercialization of this machine.

Is Italy the only one to be blamed?

Here comes a recent letter I wrote to a journalist who was talking about our beloved Prime Minister:


Dear Dr. Geoff Andrews,

I am a young Italian researcher in the field of telecommunication.
I just finished to read your very interesting article, hereafter reported:

In your essay you clearly describe some truth concerning the current status of the modern Italy.
Your analysis is certainly much deeper than many others I have been reading in the last years, and in particular in the last weeks.

You pointed out several issues that may arise in case Berlusconi's leadership terminates in the next weeks/months, by comparing it with what happens to Mussolini the 25th July 1943. Well, the situation is very different, and apart the fact that Berlusconi may be betrayed by his allies I don't see any other relations between the two men. #Mussolini was a dictator that lead Italy to a dramatic war, but, at least, Mussolini loved, although in a very particular way, Italy. On the other hand Berlusconi loves only himself and money, and he has no interest in his own country.

You mentioned that even if Italy will be one day free from Berlusconi's regime, the country will still suffer a dramatic decadence.
In this concern, you are fully right. The Italian society has been destroyed by more than 20 years of complete and extensive brain-washing.
The brain of Italians is nowadays as the Latin said like a "tabula rasa", an empty and cleaned blackboard.
If one day Berlusconi will resign or die, the Italian society will be, probably, not ready to deal with the current modern world.
Moreover, already many people, in particular many young researchers, left Italy, and the country will suffer because of the dramatic
lack of knowledge in technology, medicine, mathematics and whatsoever is needed to build an advanced economy in this second millennium.

Berlusconi's televisions imposed a model of life where to reach success you do not need to work hard and study.
Meritocracy is an unknown word to the ordinary Italian. His model tells us that everything you need is your beauty, luck, and astuteness.
Moreover, Berlusconi convinced Italians that honesty and respect of the law is something dumb.
These two "strong achievements" of his televisions and many others have set dramatic limitations to the future of modern Italy,
which will lead to a terrible crisis under all the thinkable aspects. Italy is likely going to live its worst crisis since the end of the Roman empire.

This is surely something sad, and something that in your article has been reported.
By the way, I have a simple request for you, since I recognize the deepness of your article, I think we can move forward and mention other issues, so far neglected, in order to provide your readers a complete picture of causes and effects.

I have the impression that in the article you've never mentioned the key-points of Berlusconi atypical government or maybe better say regime. Berlusconi is the main outcome of the influence and interference of other countries (mainly GB and USA) on Italy.

GB and USA were extremely afraid of the power of the communist party in the 70s, and they planned (please have a look at other recently declassified documents of the GB secret service), in case Italy would have democratically elected a government formed by the democratic and the communist party, to overthrow it with a coup.
I think you may agree with me that as Berlusconi represents something atypical, also the interfering in the interior affairs of another government is also something atypical. Moreover, we are talking about "plans" to overthrow a government, which is one of the worst crime a government can ever plan.

During the 1970s Berlusconi was selected in order to realize the goal to take the power through a "white coup", in other words without killing anyone. This had to be done through the television and other tools. About this you might be interested to read something about P2 and Licio Gelli, who was the head of a masonic illegal association named "loggia P2", and Berlusconi was one of his member.
The "Loggia" had plans to bring Italy to "modernity" and the plans were consisted of five main points. Berlusconi was able to fulfil all of them,
and he received the congratulations from Gelli himself as a proof that the connection between them is not only a "mere conspiracy theory" but a well clear and stated fact.

So far, It is not official, since not all the documents have been declassified, that P2 + (GB + USA) secret services worked together in order to destabilize the weak Italian Democracy. Here we could, unfortunately, and hopefully for the next few years, only conjecture about the dramatic secret operations occured in Italy in the 1970s in order to defend the western world from the danger of communism. In other words, we cannot state that Gelli + Berlusconi + CIA + MI5 surely worked together.

BUT...we certainly know two facts:

• first, GB and USA were afraid of the Italian communism, because it could have show, as well as Allende in Chile, that there was a third way opposing the capitalism of western countries and the communism of the USSR. From official declassified documents we know that they planed as an extreme solution even to overthrow the democratically elected Italian government in case the communist party would have been part of it.
• second, in Italy there was an association which had, as main part of his program, the introduction of a media-based dictatorial regime, result that has been fully achieved.
  

Therefore, although we do not have all the documents we need, since we are person endowed with a brain, we can put together all the pieces of this big puzzle, (see also memories of Aldo Moro's wife concerning the fears of the former Italian statesman about Kissinger), and build the whole picture of the latest part of Italian history.

Of course, in the modern history of Italy there is not only one subject which is guilty.
That is to speak out that not only the GB and USA secret services are the causes, but also the structure of Italian society itself with all his characteristics made it possible. But you know, you cannot blame a child who gets a lung cancer if his father smokes all the time.

With this email I would like to invite you to consider also the aforementioned aspects, which are not negligible issues.
And please ask GB and USA citizens not only to criticize and blame Italy, but also to criticize their own governments for what they did to us.
It would be nice, if some of the journalists, writers, and professors of the Anglo-Saxon world start,one day, to mention the responsibilities of their own governments and if one day they finally stop to describe Italians just as a flock of sheep unable to make any real changes.

I am shame of my country, and that's way I left it, but I know that a significant part of its guiltiness comes from foreign interventions.

I have to say that I essentially agree with his points, but I can also glimpse, in his words, the typical characteristic of left-wing people (like myself), where they end up to be never satisfied, no matter what happens. (Here I am referring to his concerns about President Barack Obama).

I agree with John Pilger that modern media are doing propaganda and not providing information. BBC is by the way, among the institutional media, one of the best.
I am Italian, and for me BBC, compared to the current media in Italy, resembles the ideal way to provide information.

About Obama.
You are right when you complain against his first acts. Complaining and protests are fundamental for a health democracy.
But, please do not forget that if Obama acted as he wanted, he would be assassinated immediately.
In my opinion, he is a very honest and intelligent man, and he proved that during his whole life. So please do no judge him for ONLY two weeks!
Obama cannot and is not allowed to rapidly bring changes in the US society, which is too conservative, ignorant and selfish. He needs first to prepare his way. It is hard to say, but this is the point.
Moreover, you should have understood that Obama won and he is supported only because the US establishment needed him (for example they needed him and his high-level collaborators to solve the current financial problems). The day they will not need him any longer they will put him aside, by employing all the possible means.

JFK did not get such a nice judgment by M.L. King until the beginning of 1963. Only that year MLK started appreciating the man JFK. That year the president Kennedy was barbarously assassinated in Dallas, few weeks before he decided to withdraw the troop from the Vietnam. After his death, L. johnson moved forward to really start the war in South Asia.

This is the difference between a great man (JFK, Obama, etc.) and puppets in the hands of the corporatocracy (Johnson, Bush, etc.).
This is what you should point out, at least as a hope, in your next article.

Io commentai, il battibecco, riportato con un video su Facebook da questo mio ex compagno di classe, fra Lucia Annunziata e Michele Santoro durante una puntata della trasmissione televisiva "Anno zero" incentrata sulla crisi fra Israele e Palestinia scrivendo il seguente:

Prima di criticare Santoro su questa trasmissione, dovresti/e informarvi sulla situazione fra Israele e Palestina.
Israele ha occupato un territorio che non gli appartiene secondo due strane motivazioni. Primo, in seguito all'olocausto UK e USA li hanno aiutati per diversi motivi a prendere possesso di quel pezzo di terra. Secondo, dicono che Dio glielo ha promesso.
A mio avviso sono entrambi due motivi che mi fanno dare ragione solo ai Palestinesi. Saluti. Antonio

Veramente se c'è uno che non sa cosa dire, quello sei tu. Hai risposto circa quanto ho scritto? No. Perché? E' sbagliato o e' vero quello che ho affermato? Quello che vedo e' solo una assenza di risposta. Se avessi scritto una cazzata, avresti fatto bene a farmelo notare con fatti, non offese generalizzate.

Dov'è la mia intolleranza? Non essere d'accordo con il pensiero che viene imposto dai mass media, vuol dire essere intolleranti? Leggere ed informarsi vuol dire essere intolleranti? Spiegami che ne sono curioso.

E poi cosa vuol dire "Io non mi sono mai permesso di scrivere etc. etc.". Dimmi, chi te lo vieta? Io fintanto che uno non offende nessun altro non cancello nessun messaggio ne' dalla mia bacheca ne' dal mio blog. E poi scrivi "prevaricare il pensiero altrui". italiano. E' andato a Nassyria dopo che c'è stato il drammatico attentato. Prima che partisse, io gli dissi, guarda che quanto e' successo a Nassyria e' normale, in quanto noi siamo visti giustamente come un aggressore, e gli iracheni ci odiano, perché gli stiamo facendo la guerra per tenerci il LORO petrolio. Gli dissi di stare molto molto attento, dato che gli voglio bene.
Gli dissi anche che, dato che stava per andare proprio a Nassyria, di guardare bene quanto c'era davanti alla base militare italiana. E gli dissi "Caro XXX (non riporto il suo nome) vedrai che davanti alla base italiana troverai il motivo per cui siamo in Iraq. Dopo 1 e mezzo anno il sergente XXX torno' a casa (nostra) dato che sarebbe dovuto in seguito andare in Afganistan. Mi venne a trovare appena arrivato. E mi chiese scusa per avermi insultato a riguardo dei pozzi dell'Agip....Perché, sue parole, "Antonio, non so come tu abbia fatto a saperlo, ma era proprio esattamente come tu mi hai detto. Tu vivi in una realtà molto provinciale, e tutto quello che e' diverso ti fa paura. Tutto cio' denota debolezza.
Immagino che tu veda la Cina come il diavolo (correggimi se mi sbaglio), per me invece e' un grande tema per il futuro e una maniera per scoprire qualcosa di diverso (chiaramente NON mi riferisco all'attuale regime comunista-capitalista che vi e' ora nella Repubblica popolare cinese).

Questa e' la differenza fra me e te.

Per concludere tu qui mi mandi a "fan culo". Ti faccio notare ancora una volta che qui l'unico ad offendere sei tu e non io. Io faccio delle considerazioni, e tu insulti. Sarebbe edificante ricevere argomentazioni, piuttosto che insulti.

a questa mail alquanto complessa ho ricevuto nessuna risposta...solo farneticazioni:

tu fai delle considerazioni che non hanno senso e non stanno nè in cielo nè in terra! Ecco cosa fai! E te lo dico perchè ne sono fermamente convinto ... proprio come quando hai innalzato agli onori della tua gloria comunista il Sig. Di Pietro.
Forse potevi dare la tua opinione in modo meno farneticante... dicendo che ero per te un buon politico .... ma dire che è uno dei migliori mi sembra brancolare nella tua mente accecata dalle fatidiche fette di salame che hai sugli occhi....
